The State of Alabama will celebrate “2010 Year of Small Towns & Downtowns.” On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the City of Chickasaw will celebrate this special-designated year as part of the city’s 64th Founder’s Day celebration sponsored by the Chickasaw Chamber of Commerce. Chickasaw is one of three small towns in Mobile County who will receive a plaque on that day.

The Coming Home 2010 Committee for Chickasaw's Founders Day 64th celebration needs volunteers to chair event committees and to serve on other committees.  The event is co-hosted by the City of Chickasaw and the Chickasaw Chamber of Commerce.

The event is also seeking event sponsors, as well as arts and crafts and food vendors.  The celebration is Saturday, October 30, and will feature an arts and crafts exhibit, food and beverage vendors, visual photo display, entertainment, old-fashioned games for kids of all ages (and young at heart adults!).

For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact Tom Hayward at 251-457-2707.  For sponsorship information, contact Sher Graham at 251-404-3924. For more information, contact Jennifer White through City Hall at (251) 452-6450.  (More information at www.chickasawfoundersday.com)
